Integrated Power-to-X (iPtX) Plants

 1 MIN READING 10. April 2023

The MOONRIVER Integrated Power-to-X Plants (iPtX) combine energy generation and energy storage systems in one plant. The vertical integration allows to fully control energy generation and energy storage operations by taking direct ownership the generation and storage process instead of relying on external suppliers for either one of it.

The MOONRIVER Integrated Power-to-X Plants (iPtX) are connected to electricity and gas microgrids within distributed energy generation (DEG) and distributed energy storage systems (DES). They can operate autonomously, strengthen grid resilience, and help mitigate grid disturbances.

In MOONRIVER Integrated Power-to-X Plants (iPtX), the produced material energy carrier “X” is hydrogen and its derivatives (such as e-Methane, e-Methanol and e-Ammonia). The production of the hydrogen derivatives requires carbon dioxide, that can be captured from the biogas produced and/or from the flue gases of any industrial sector.
